Willard R. "Bill" Wigfield, III



Willard R. "Bill" Wigfield, III, age 50, of 403 North High Street, Port Washington, Ohio, died early Sunday morning October 21, 2012 from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.
 
He was currently employed as a maintenance and machine set-up man for Zhongding USA, Inc. at Strasburg, where he had been employed for 12 years.

He was born June 8, 1962 in Milton, Florida and was the son of Willard R. Wigfield, Jr. of Port Washington and the late Doris Hess Wigfield Baker. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Marjorie Mizer, his grandparents Martha and Willard Wigfield, Sr., and a nephew.

Bill was recognized by his friends and family as being a very industrious and hard-working individual. He possessed a keen sense of humor. He loved to laugh and instigate practical jokes. Bill also loved to sing karaoke and play pool. He was an enthusiastic fisherman, and especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing at the park. Above all, he was a dedicated and loving father to all of his children, but gave special effort and attention to the guidance of his youngest son Michael.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his five children Willard R. (Amanda) Wigfield, IV of Mentor-on-the-Lake, O., Stephanie Wigfield of Port Washington, Amanda Nicole Wigfield of New Philadelphia, O., and Holly Wigfield and Michael Wigfield, both of Massillon, O., his eleven grandchildren Seth, Trent, Josie, and Amber Wigfield, all of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Calista Wigfield of Dover, O., Loretta, Deon, Angel, and Shekira Wigfield, all of Port Washington, and Alec Bassett and Diamond Miller, both of New Philadelphia, O., his sister, Deborah Wigfield Deetz of Newcomerstown, O., and brother Dwayne Wigfield of Port Washington, and the love of his life and mother of his children Veronica Wigfield Edwards of Massillon, and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 in the New Cumberland United Methodist Church with Rev. Milo Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 on Saturday, October 27 in the church.
