Michael A. Jeffries, age 60, of 4339 Dublin Road SW, Bowerston, O., died Friday evening, November 2, 2012 in Union Hospital at Dover, O. after a long illness.
He was born September 15, 1952 in Cleveland, O. and was the son of the late Edgar H. and Mary M. Harvey Jeffries.
He retired as a corrections officer from the Belmont Correctional Institute in Belmont County after 27 years of service. He also volunteered for the Carroll County Sheriff Deputy's Auxillary for 18 years. Michael was a nature lover and was known to stop and admire the beauty of the outdoors. One of his favorite hobbies was designing and creating unique slingshots. He was very dedicated to his family and had a strong belief in education and the power of knowledge and tried to make everyday a learning experience. His life was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia D. Kell Jeffries, three daughters Mrs. Jason (Marijane) Earnest of Bowerston, Desiree Jeffries of Toledo, O., and Sunny Jeffries of Bowerston, a brother Douglas (Kaeuen) Jeffries of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and three sisters Karen Felner of Ravenna, O., Mrs. Barney (Vicki) Pidgeon of Louisville, Kentucky, and Barb Heintz of Greensboro, South Carolina, and his two grandchildren Michala and Dallas Romig both of Bowerston.
