Alvin S. Miller



Alvin S. Miller, 59, of 5291 TR 355 Millersburg died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg following a short illness.  He was born March 6, 1953 in Holmes County to Sam E. Miller of the home and the late Barbara (Miller) Miller.

He was a retired farmer, blacksmith and logger. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and was ordained as Minister on April 17, 1992. 

He is survived by his wife the former Malinda Raber whom he married October 14, 1971; his three sons Samuel (Ruth) Miller of Millersburg, Allen (Brenda) Miller of Berlin, Alvin Jr. (Edna) Miller of Millersburg; his four daughters Anna (Melvin) Erb of Millersburg, Ada Mae (John) Miller of the home, Verna (Joseph) Miller of Sugarcreek, Miriam (Ivan) Yoder of Millersburg, 24 grandchildren, his brother Jonas S. Miller of Millersburg, five sisters Mrs. Anna Hershberger of West Union, OH, Saloma (Eli R.) Miller of Baltic, Mrs. Fannie Yoder of Baltic, Barbara Ann (Delbert) Yoder of Baltic, Mary (Eli) Stutzman of Fresno and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his stillborn grandson, and brothers-in-law Eli H. Yoder and Jr. E. Hershberger. 

Services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Miller residence with Bishop Junior A. Yoder officiating.  Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery in Mechanic Twp., Holmes County.  Friends may call anytime at the Miller residence.  Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
