Jamey Graham with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Wildlife says the season is open statewide to hunters holding a valid youth hunting license and youth deer permit.
Graham says the division of wildlife anticipates that about 10,000 youth will participate in the special hunt and will take about 8,300 deer.
She says youth deer-gun season continues to grow in popularity a little bit each year.
Graham says all other regularly scheduled hunting seasons will continue during the two-day youth season and she reminds all hunters, including deer-archery hunters, to wear hunter orange.
