Mattie Barkman

Mattie Barkman, 87, of 2838 SR 557 Baltic (Farmerstown) died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born June 13, 1925 in Holmes County to the late John D. and Sarah (Troyer) Miller.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. She was married December 5, 1946 to Eli J. Barkman who died July 28, 2011.
She is survived by her 4 sons Mose (Marie) Barkman of Baltic, Jacob (Susie) Barkman of Baltic, Andrew (Saloma) Barkman of Sugarcreek and Roy (Mary) Barkman of the home, her daughter-in-law Ada Barkman of Baltic, 23 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, brothers John (Maryann) Miller of Baltic and Ammon (Lydiann) Miller of Danville, sisters Sarah Schrock of Sugarcreek and Emma (Eli D.) Yoder of Michigan and her brother-in-law Joe D. Erb of Charm.

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her son Ammon, a great grandson, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Clark Casting Building in Farmerstown with Bishop Mose M.E. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery in Clark Twp., Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Barkman residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
