Jon D. Rectanus, age 71, of New Philadelphia, O., formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Union Hospital in Dover. Born on October 19, 1941 at Dennison, he was the son of the late Earl F. and Vivian (Edwards) Rectanus.
In 1959, Jon graduated from Uhrichsville High School. He was an 11 year veteran of the Army serving in Germany. Jon was employed at VonKaenel Trucking in Strasburg and Gutter Helmet. He was a board member and former staff at SEA. Jon played drums in various local groups and he loved golf.Jon is survived by his wife Carolyn (Parks) Rectanus of the home; his children Charles H. Rectanus and Nicole L. Rectanus; sister Jan (Dan) Kappler of Uhrichsville; sister-in-law Trudy (Parks) (Fred) Norman of L. A.; grandson Devon (Indira) Rectanus; great granddaughters Andy, Caty and Alex; nieces and nephews and one special nephew Wade Norman.
In keeping with Jon’s wishes no calling hours or services will be observed.
