She retired in 2000 from the Lauren Manufacturing Company at New Philadelphia. Previously, she was an employee of Flex Plastics at Midvale for seven years, and was a supervisor at Handy and Harman for twenty years until the plant shut down. Additionally, she ran a newspaper route for the Times-Reporter for five years, and most recently had worked part-time as a dishwasher for Dee's Restaurant at New Philadelphia until February of this year.
She was born August 5, 1939 in Monroe Co., Ohio and was the daughter of the late John and Esther Straub Rothacher. Ginny was the foundation of a large, tightly bonded family. She was and individual who never turned away any person in need. Known by her friends and family to be generous and big-hearted, she always welcomed friends into her home. She showed her devotion to her grandchildren by focusing many of her life's efforts on them. She simply loved doing things with and for her grandchildren. Ginny devoted many hours to her hobby of gardening. She also carefully provided for hummingbirds and took pleasure in their presence. She was deeply devoted to her best friend of more than 55 years, Patty Phillips. Together they enjoyed the pleasures of shopping, reading, working puzzles, or just enjoying life as they shared it together. Above all, she was always a loving mother to her family of seven children.
She is survived by her children Mrs. Vern (Lori) Alsept of Midvale, O., Mike (Angie) Campbell of Roswell, O., John (Nina) Campbell of New Philadelphia, O., Jim Campbell and his companion Susan Emhoff with whom she resided, Mrs. Tom (Cheryl) Belknap and Mark (Jennette) Campbell, both of New Philadelphia, and Tom (Pammy) Campbell of Midvale, 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ron (Delores) Smith of Hannibal Hill, O. A large family of nieces and nephews completes the family.
