The Hometown Holiday Mail for Heroes effort is underway. Jeannette Meiser, Community Relations Coordinator for the Muskingum Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross, says the campaign runs through Friday, December 7th.
Meiser says even though the military member might not know the person they’d be getting the letter from, they’re still grateful for the contact from home.
Meiser says the Holiday Mail for Heroes program empowers a person to give something that means something during the holiday season by sending these cards and letters of support.
Meiser says the holiday letters can be submitted at the local Red Cross office without postage.
Again, the deadline to get the letters to the Red Cross is Friday, December 7th to ensure that they reach the overseas troops by Christmas.
