State Route 516 will remain closed between Bair Road and Josephine Street at Dover until at least late spring due to last week’s sand and gravel pit collapse.
Becky Giauque, Public Information Officer for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), says a geotechnical team from ODOT’s central office in Columbus along with a member of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources were at the site of the collapse on Monday and determined that the restoration work will take a minimum of three months to complete.

Giauque says the restoration work on the area has already begun.
Until the road is repaired, Giauque says traffic will continue to be detoured on State Route 39 and State Route 93. Beginning at the intersection of SR 39 and SR 516 in Dover, traffic is rerouted west on SR 39 to SR 93 in Sugarcreek, then north on SR 93 back to SR 516 in Dundee and reverse.
