Bid Process Postponed Until Spring

Enhancements to Second Avenue in the village of Dennison will have to wait until at least next year.

The village received a 40-thousand dollar state grant to help fund the project, that will entail paving and drainage work for the roadway. But councilman and mayor pro-tem Frank Golec says higher-than-expected bids for the project created an issue.

Based on the high bids, Golec says village officials have asked for an extension.

Golec says council must also keep in mind that the money received from the state is a “use it or lose it” style grant. Again, officials are expected to rebid the project in spring 2013.
