Richard A. Nutter, age 88, of 1110 East St Rd , Newcomerstown, and a former resident of Waterford, MI, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 after a brief illness. He was born on February 02, 1924 in Menomonie, WI, to the late Otto and "Jennie" (Lester) Nutter.
He was a 1941 graduate of Menomonie High School in Wisconsin. At the age of 17, he enlisted into the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Italy and served as a radio operator. He was a salesman for Gerber Baby Products and retired after more than 30 years of service. Richard was a charter member and past president of the Watkins Lake Home Owners Association. He was a 50 year member of the Waterford Central United Methodist Church in Waterford, MI.
On September 26, 1946 he married the former Marjorie (Herzog) Nutter, who died on June 15, 1998. Richard was her loving care giver for more than 20 years as she struggled with MS. He is survived by his children; Patrick (Elizabeth) Nutter of Bloomingdale, IL, Janet (George) Gore of Newcomerstown, and Rex (Moira) Nutter of Fairbanks, Alaska, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family will have services in Michigan at a later date.
