Russell Joseph “Joey” Young, 21, of Beach City, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Aultman Hospital at Canton, Ohio.
A son of Mary Garrett Young of Beach City and the late Russell Gregory Young, Joey was born July 25, 1991 at Millersburg, Ohio.
Joey attended New Philadelphia and Fairless Schools and was employed as a masonry worker.
He enjoyed “wrenching” on vehicles and was an avid fan of both football and basketball. He will be remembered most for his sweet personality and his keen sense of humor with the ability to make anyone laugh.
In addition to his mother, Joey is survived by his step-father, Doug Justice; his brothers, Jeff (Mindy) Miller of Sugarcreek, Ohio, Mike (Wendy) Miller of Myakka City, Florida and Justin (Amy) Miller of Baltic, Ohio; 10 nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Donna Garrett of Akron, Ohio; two uncles, Gary (Cindy) Garrett of Greer, South Carolina and John Garrett of New Philadelphia, Ohio; aunts, Jo Ellen (Tim) Burris of Dover and Rebecca Richesson of New Philadelphia; many cousins; extended family members from the Justice Family and many dear friends.
In addition to his father, Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lois Garrett and Russell and Dorothy Young and two uncles, Mark Garrett and Bill Richesson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A memorial service celebrating Joey’s life will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Cunningham officiating. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held in the Hospitality Room in the Geib Funeral Center.
