Margaret Janet McDaniel



Margaret Janet McDaniel, age 77, of Dennison, O., passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, following a 5 month battle with cancer.

Born on September 19, 1935 in Lock Seventeen, Janet was the daughter of the late John Freemont and Gladys Louise (Crews) Brick.

Janet attended Gnadenhutten High School and spent her entire life as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She gave her time to Ember Home Health and Stepping Stone Group Home.

On April 11, 1953, Janet married Russel Guy McDaniel, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their children Carol McDaniel (companion Lee Swerline) of Stow, Russel “Rusty” (Shelly) McDaniel Jr. of Dennison, Sharon (Jack) Grove of Dennison and Rick (Stephanie) McDaniel of Dennison; twin sister Jane Mardis of Newcomerstown, sisters Beverly Kopp of Midvale and Vickie (Bill) Davis of Columbus;17 grandchildren Michael E. (Anne) and Neil (Nici) Travis Crabtree, Amanda M. (Brad) Bierhorst, Ryin Lee (Amanda) McDaniel, Dawn M. (Drew) Opfer, Lindsay R. and Jordan A. McDaniel, Aaron K. Fondriest, Alyssa S. (Kody) Murphy, Brooke T. (Mitch) Addleman, Samantha L., Erika L. and Lukas L. McDaniel, Ariel R. (Ryder) Dynes, Andy (Wendy), Chris (Jen) and Jack (Rachel) Grove; 15 great grandchildren Katie M, Drew R., Ella C., Dylan R. Crabtree, B. J. and Sofia N. Bierhorst, Gabrielle R., Madylin N., Karlayna L. and Auria J. McDaniel, Rex R. Dynes, Grayor M. and Coen G. Opfer, Kain W. Murphy, Bella, Landon, Caleb and Owen Grove and 1 expected in March Layla Grove.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her siblings Sylvia McCartney, Paul Brick, John Brick Jr. and Maxine Page and son-in-law Mike Crabtree.

Funeral services for Janet will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville with the Rev. Michael Travis officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.

Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., (two hours prior to services) on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
