Samuel B. Grant



Samuel B. Grant, 72, of Newcomerstown and formerly of East Sparta, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in his residence.  Born May 4, 1940 in Bellaire, Ohio he was a son of the late Nellie (Grant) Bell. 
 
He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Superior Brand Meats at Massillon and was a U. S. Navy Veteran. 
 
His wife, the former Rita Stegall, preceded him in death on July 14, 2009. 
 
He is survived by 3 children Kathy Grant-Sexton of Canton, Melissa (Tim) Hudson of Navarre and Samantha Grant of Canton; 3 estranged children Nellie Maurer of Dennison, Eric Grant of Georgia and Rodney Grant of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 brothers Russell Bell of Naples, Florida and Francis Grant of Michigan. 
 
In addition to his mother and wife he was preceded in death by a sister Millie Wilson. 
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home at 248 Park Ave. Bolivar, Ohio. Rev. Janice Strawn will officiate and burial will follow in Grandview-Union Cemetery at Strasburg.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until time of services at 2:00 PM.
