Laura Alice Tice, 83, of Dover, died Thursday, January 3, 2012 in her home, following a period of illness.
She was born May 19, 1929 near Ragersville, the daughter of the late Harvey William and Laura Alice Inherst Smart.
Alice's husband of 49 years, Charles Edward Tice, preceded her in death on January 12, 1996.
Survivors include: two sons, Lester (Janice) Tice of Dover and Jeffrey (Anna) Tice of Canton; two daughters, Loretta Sayre of Dover and Pat (Dave) McDiffitt of Mineral City; a brother, Oscar Smart; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by: four sons, Virgil, Paul, Carl and William; a daughter, Beatrice; four brothers and eight sisters.
A funeral service celebrating Laura's life will be held Monday, January 7, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Pastor Floyd Stanfill officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday one-hour prior to services.
