Born October 17, 1928 in Tongeren, Belgium she was a daughter of the late Martin and Marie Delmotte Croughs.
Rosalie met the love of her life, Russell Frey, while he was stationed in Belgium during WW II. They were married on November 13, 1945 and Rosalie became a US citizen on April 3, 1952. Russell passed in 1994.
A loving and wonderful mother and grandmother, Rosalie will be sadly missed by her children, Jerry Frey, Larry (Debbie) Frey both of Atwood, Mary Miller of New Philadelphia and Cindy Frey Roby and her husband, Chuck Roby of Bolivar; sisters, Lizie Hansoul Croughs and Josephine Vandenberk Croughs both of Belgium; eight grandchildren, Julie Wallace, Brian Frey, Shannon Dendler, Christy Frey, Travis Miller, Tonya Foley, Rosalie Miller and Barbie Boord; 16 great grandchildren and son in law, Fred Scherer.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandy Scherer, grandson, Jerry Frey and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
