Clair W. Osborne



Clair W. Osborne, 59, of 7346 Spooky Hollow Dr. Sugarcreek, died Sunday in his residence of an apparent heart attack.  Born May 25, 1953 in Youngstown he was a son of William Osborne of Sugarcreek and the late Wanda Jean (Sommerville) Osborne. 
  
He owned and operated Boulevard Tire at Sugarcreek since 1990.  Clair was a member of the First United Church of Christ at Sugarcreek, The Baltic Conservation Club and the Dover V.F.W.  He was a 1971 graduate of Garaway High School and a graduate of Kent State University with an associate degree in both mechanical and industrial engineering.  He enjoyed both water and snow skiing, boating, snowmobiling, working on cars and NASCAR racing.
  
He is survived by his wife the former Pam Dodge whom he married June 18, 1978; a son Matthew Osborne of Denver, Colorado; a sister Karen (Glen) Scheetz of Sugarcreek; his father in-law and mother-in-law Don and Lucille Dodge of Sugarcreek and a nephew Kurt Thomas Scheetz of Sugarcreek.
 
Private family funeral services will be held Thursday January 10, 2013 in the Smith-Varns Funeral Home at 1018 W. Main St. Sugarcreek.  Rev. Eric Rummell will officiate and burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek.  Public visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. 
 
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First United Church of Christ at Sugarcreek.  For those unable to attend please visit the funeral home’s web site to share a memory and sign the guest register.
