He was born in Coshocton County on October 15, 1935, the son of the late Sheldon and Thelma (Sarchet) Young. After graduating high school from Ridgewood, Donald was a long time employee of Clows Corporation and Burnham Foundry as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a member of the Newcomerstown Moose Lodge and enjoyed repairing autos and various items, car rides, music, traveling and spending time with his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Rachel (Bright) Young; a brother Harvey Young from Ashland, Ohio; two sons, Tracy (Kim) Young of Newcomerstown, and Stacy (Charon) Young of Conesville; a daughter, Pam Young Hootman of Coshocton; grandchildren Amber (Mark) Keffer, Amie Young, Ashley (John) Keffer, Jennifer Young, Jessica Young, Jerrod Young, Charlie Young, Clara Young, Carrick Young, Travis Hootman and Andrew Hootman; as well as several great grandchildren.
Calling Hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 beginning at 11:00am. A funeral service will be held directly after calling hours at 12:00pm with Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio.
