The Better Business Bureau wants to remind people to be aware of an ongoing email scam.
Amanda Tietze with the Canton Better Business Bureau says businesses and consumers all across the United States and Canada have reported receiving emails that appear to be from the BBB.
Tietze says the email format does imitate the format often used by the Better Business Bureau and may appear legitimate to those who have previously dealt with the BBB.
But she says the emails are full of grammatical errors and misspelled words.

Tietze says they’ve already had some businesses and consumers fall prey to the scam.
Tietze says there a couple ways to tell whether or not an email is from the Better Business Bureau.
Tietze says consumers and businesses can also contact the BBB at 1-800-362-0494 to verify any email that appears to come from the BBB.
