Red Cross to Honor Hometown Heroes

The Muskingum Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting nominations for its tenth annual Hometown Hero Awards.

Chapter director Chad Conrad says the awards serve to recognize and thank people for their good work in Tuscarawas, Harrison and Carroll counties.

Conrad says past winners include people who have risked their lives to save others.

Conrad says the judging committee will consider any heroic act which has taken place within the past two years for nomination.

The deadline to submit nominations is February 15th. Conrad says help is available for anyone who has trouble putting into words why they want to nominate a hometown hero.

The winners will be announced at the Hometown Heroes Awards Dinner on April 18th at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. To nominate a hometown hero or to get more information on the campaign, call the Red Cross at (330) 343-8633.
