New Philadelphia Woman Assaulted at a Traffic Stop

A New Philadelphia woman has been assaulted while waiting at a traffic light.

According to police, the woman’s car was stopped at a red light on the corner of 4th Street and West High Avenue at approximately 4:30pm Tuesday when a woman also waiting at the light got out of her truck and began to assault her.

When the light turned green, the woman drove away and a half hour later noticed she was being followed by the truck near the corner of Commercial Avenue and Broadway Street.

The woman called police, who stopped both of them on the 100 block of South Broadway and issued statement forms for each to fill out.

Once the statements are completed, New Philadelphia police will send a report to the city prosecutor’s office.
