Trail Construction Slated for this Spring

A new trail for the Twin Cities is scheduled to be open to the public before the end of the year.

Dennison Councilman Greg DiDonato says the Ohio Department of Transportation will award bids for the construction of the Panhandle Passage Trail in mid-March with construction set to begin April 15th.

DiDonato says officials have been able to raise nearly all local dollars for the project through grants and donations without relying on money from taxpayers.

He says council has also received approval to extend the trail approximately 150-feet to the site of the old Ohio Power building, allowing the trail to connect to Dennison’s downtown area.

DiDonato notes that the trail should prove to be a true asset to the Twin Cities.

DiDonato says the public will be able to take advantage of the trail once construction ends on the nearly 900-thousand dollar project on September 15th.
