Commissioner Chris Abbuhl says the village submitted a petition to the commissioners to annex a portion of County Road 102, also known as Fort Laurens Road.
Abbuhl says a reason for the village requesting the annexation is so the 45 miles-per-hour speed limit for that section of the road can be lowered.
He says a public hearing will be held during the Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting at 1:00pm on Monday, February 4th.
Abbuhl says the petition was presented to the commissioners on January 17th.
If approved, the speed limit for that portion of County Road 102 could be reduced to 25 miles per hour.
