Highway Patrol to Step Up Enforcement For Super Bowl

As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds everyone that Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.

Since the big game has been known to result in an increased number of drunken drivers on the roads, the patrol will have extra units on duty from 6:00am Sunday to 6:00am Monday.

Trooper Vincent Shirey has advice for anyone hosting a Super Bowl party where alcohol will be served.

Shirey also has tips for anyone attending a Super Bowl party.

Shirey says there are consequences facing anyone convicted of a drunken driving offense.

Shirey says there could also be penalties for whoever hosts the party where the impaired driver was served.

In addition, the patrol recommends that drivers buckle up at all times.
