Bernard graduated from Strasburg High School; retired as supervisor of grounds from Apple Creek Development Center and was a World War Ii Air Force Veteran; a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion both of Beach City; Cypress Chapter #604 of Strasburg, was a 32nd. Degree Mason and a member Scottish Rite Valley of Canton and Tadmore Shrine of Akron.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Eileen Wardell, whom he married Jan. 23, 1942; 1 son and daughter in law, Bernard (Bud) II and Mary Ann Klingler of Beach City; grandson, Matthew R. Klingler of Beach City. He was preceded by 1 sister and 2 brothers, Ruth, Raymond and Theodore and 1 grandson, Michael A. Klingler.
A service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City is assisting the family with arrangements.
