Mayor Mike Taylor says he has already begun talks with department heads to determine their needs.
Taylor says it is key that he is made aware of each department's proposed budget.
Looking at 2013, Taylor says the city will once again aim to have a very “lean” budget to help possibly counterbalance cuts made to local governments.
Taylor notes that local government cuts combined with the loss of estate tax money poses a challenge for New Philadelphia.
Once drawn up, Taylor says he expects the city's proposed budget for 2013 to go a full three readings.
Council must pass a budget for the city by April 1st.
