Daniel Ritter



Daniel Ritter, 68 of Canton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday February 3, 2013. Dan was born June 2, 1944 in Hobart, Oklahoma.
 
Dan was retired as Co-owner and Vice President of Copeco Electronics of Canton. He had many hobbies but some of his favorites were gardening, being outdoors, fishing, singing, playing cards, playing the guitar, traveling, reading, solving crossword puzzles, watching movies and sports, making people laugh, visiting with friends, and playing with his grandkids.
 
He will be remembered most for his sense of adventure and humor, his quick wit, his passion for people and his family. He will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, friends, and family. 
 
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Ritter who served in the U.S. Army and was killed in action in 1945 during the Battle of the Bulge, and his mother Blanche Vincent who passed away earlier this year. Dan was preceded in death by his uncles Robert and Ralph Ritter.
 
He is survived by his children Rachel Ritter, 2nd Lieutenant Jordan (Krista) Ritter all of Bolivar, Tracy Pendleton Myrick of San Antonio, Texas, and Jennifer Ritter of Oklahoma. Survivors include four grandchildren Chloe Ritter-Betz, Vivian Ritter, Kaelyn and Rylee Myrick. He is survived by his brothers Burt Ritter of Mobile, Alabama, and Raymond (Linda) Vincent of Harrah, OK. He is survived by his sisters Paula (Frank) Washington, and Christy Vincent both of Edmond, OK. Dan is survived by nine nieces and nephews Shane Graham, Shelley Thornhill, Raymond Jr., Robert, and Ryan Vincent, Lauri Gosney, Kyle Coldiron, Beckham and Chapin King all of Oklahoma. He is survived by his former wife Sandra Ritter of Bolivar, OH. He is survived by his uncles Mansel Ritter of Oklahoma City, OK and Billy Ritter of Midlothian, Texas. His aunt Joyce Ritter of Oklahoma City, OK and his cousin Martha Cawood Taylor of Plano, Texas.
 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 3:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bolivar with Rev. Mike Pozzuto officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until time of services. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.
