Martha E. Piper, age 87 passed away on February 7, 2013. She was born on March 1, 1925 to the late Thomas and Mary (McCluster) Harris in Pine Township, Pennsylvania. She married Byron Piper and they were together until his passing on April 25, 1992.
Martha worked for Central States Canning until her retirement. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #190 Ladies Auxillary. Martha was a woman of many interests; she enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bingo, loved dogs and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother and Sister.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Thomas and Ashley Piper, and Martha J. Piper; her great-grandchildren Annabelle Piper and Emily Burriss; and her sisters Pearl Jozwiakowski and Bertha Cherry. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sons Jerrold E. Piper and Thomas B. Piper Sr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held for Martha and her son Thomas at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 1 until 3p.m. A brief committal service will be held at Eden Church of the Brethren Cemetery following the gathering.
