Following his service he returned home and worked for the The Warner and Swaseyl Gradall Company for 45 years.
Ronald is survived by his wife, the former Vera L. "Tonnie" Jackson; they were wed on June 22, 1958. In addition, surviving is son Ronald Thomas and companion Mabel Amore of Newcomerstown and daughter Amy Jo (Mark A.) Craigo of Uhrichsville. Surviving grandchildren are Lindsaye (Stan) Dombrowski II of New Philadelphia, Briana K. Diehl of Ashland, Lane A. Craigo of Uhrichsville and Kristin N. and Tyler Amore of Newcomerstown. In addition, great-grandchildren Dakota M., Jackson G. and Chantz R. W. Dombrowski survive. Ronald is also survived by a sister Betty Rose of Bakersville and brother, James M. (Shirley) of New Philadelphia along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by nephew Billy Cramer of Dundee.
Ron's most treasured activity was spending time with his family. In addition to his family, Ron enjoyed golfing, camping, and fishing. He was active in Uhrichsville Little League and was a member of the Claymont Marching 100 Band Parents.
Following retirement he and his wife of nearly 56 years enjoyed wintering in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was a member of The Ohio Snowbird Club.
Funeral services for Ron will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. The Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting military services outside the funeral home, following funeral services. Inurnment will take place at a later date, at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the funeral home.

Community Hospice of Tuscarawas, Stark and Carroll Counties.
