The Dover police department is hoping to be able to search the Tuscarawas River where a woman reported seeing a vehicle in the water a second time.
The city police and fire departments searched the river on Monday, February 4th after a passerby claimed she saw a pick-up truck’s tail lights coming from the water near the Wooster Avenue bridge at about 3am.
The Akron fire department provided side scan SONAR equipment to aid in the search, during which it was determined that nothing was in the water.
However, Dover Police Chief Joe Ball says he’d like a second search to take place.
Ball says a specialized dive team has been called in for this search.
Ball says a recent report of a stolen pick-up truck is another reason for wanting to the search the river again.
Ball hopes to be able to perform this second search soon.
