Wm. G. (Jerry) Rogers, 77, of Cadiz, died Friday, February 08, 2013 at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born September 6, 1935 in Nottingham Twp., Harrison County, a son of the late Clark and Nellie Bargar Rogers.
Jerry was the retired superintendent of the Harrison County Home, a former Harrison County Deputy Sheriff, a retired Foreman from Y. & O. Nelms # 2 Mine, and a former employee of Pep Fuels. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is a member of the UMWA. He hunted when he was young and enjoyed travel, fishing and spending time outdoors.
In death in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Rogers and 2 brothers, Ivan and John Rogers.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Gertrude Keyser Rogers; 4 sons: Donald (Debi) Rogers of Cadiz, Joseph (Sheri) Rogers of Harrisville, Brian Rogers of Cadiz and Joe (Karen) Kellaway of Grafton, WV; a daughter, Vietta "Sis" (Jim) Ostojich of Cadiz; 3 grandchildren, Donald Rogers and Stacy and Brian Kellaway; a step grandson, Jason Jako; 3 great grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; 2 step great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Clark Leroy (Marlene) Rogers of Canton and Harry (Linda) Rogers of Weirton, WV; and 2 aunts, Irene Dunlap and Mary Puskarich.
Calling hours will be held Monday, February 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 with Rev. Jon Little officiating. Burial will follow at Rankin Cemetery, Cadiz, Ohio.
