Born on March 5, 1930, in Dennison, Peggy was the daughter of the late Everett and Gretna (Heston) Arnold.
In 1948, Peggy graduated from Dennison High School. She was employed at Mako’s Market and many area stores. Peggy was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Dennison. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and she volunteered at her church, Dennison Depot, Twin City Christian Center, and an aide at Trenton School.
Peggy lived her life serving and caring for others, whether it was activity in her church, volunteering her time, helping friends, or taking care of her family. She always had a smile, kind words, and the ability to lift your spirits. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends. Her entire family especially loved her chicken, salad dressing, ham loaf, and pumpkin cookies. Her family meant everything to her, which meant she never missed an opportunity to attend her grandkids’ and great grandkids’ sporting events, concerts, dance recitals, and all the other activities so important to them as they grew up. She was so proud of them! As a result, her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, all of whom adored and loved her.
On May 8, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church in Dennison, Peggy married Thomas Heakin, who survives of the home. Also surviving are their daughters Christine (Rod) Hasseman of Uhrichsville and Molly (Mark) Tressel of Tappan Lake; 2 sisters Beverly (Jack) Aldergate and Virginia (Donald) Trimmer; brother-in-law Bill Bower; grandchildren Kirby (Amy) Hasseman, Amy (Corey) Spaulding, Nicole Hasseman Pappas, Micah (Loni) Heakin, Seth (Jenine) Heakin, Juston Stutz, Jason Stutz (fiancé Nicole Strong) Jessica (Chris) Pressley, Zachary Hasseman, Jimmy Stutz and Hillary (fiancé Chris Strouse) Hasseman; great-grandchildren Logan Fry, Kaci Groves, Skylar Hasseman, Jade Hasseman, Beaux Wells, Paige Wells, Timothy Heakin, Dacota Heakin, Joel Heakin, James Heakin, Lovely Heakin, Kristin Heakin, Ethan Murdock, Ethan Heakin and great-great-grandchild Wyatt Lee Fry.
