Born April 21, 1963 in Dover he was the son of Eugene Copeland of Scio and the late Maxine Wright Copeland. A 1981 graduate from Jewett-Scio High School where he was a member of the wrestling team, Tod continued his education receiving an associate's degree from Kent State Tusc. He was a quality engineer at Meteor Sealing Systems in Dover for over 14 years.
Tod was a member of the Sons of the Scio American Legion Post 482. He enjoyed playing golf and bass guitar and riding motorcycles with his friends. He was also an avid Ohio State fan. He was a kind and loving person who always had a positive outlook on life.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife Kathy Fox Copeland whom he married in October of 2004; five children Jesse Lee (Frank) Wiley of Cadiz, Casey Jean Copeland of the home, Callie Ann Copeland of Jewett, Kimberly Nichole Ledfors of Scio and Ryan Joseph Ledfors of Flushing; a grandson Jasper Wiley, an uncle and several cousins.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother Jay, an uncle and two aunts.
Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Mike Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Scio. Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 201 W 3rd St., Dover 44622.
