Elsie C. Selway, 100, of Cadiz, died peacefully on Thursday, February 14, 2013. She was born February 27, 1912 in Miller Station, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward T. and Anna Whitmore Cole. She lived most of her life in Harrison County, Ohio.
Mrs. Selway was a member of Scott United Methodist Church the United Methodist Women's Club and the Cadiz Women's Civic Club. After receiving her teaching certificate from Kent State University, she taught school in one room schools in Harrison County, including Germano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Selway in 1967; three sisters, Mary Skeeles, Frances Wheeler and Dorothy Raber; and a brother, Edward Cole.
Surviving are a son, Ronald (Robbin) Selway of New Philadelphia, OH; two daughters, Carol (Michael) Bertz of Cherry Hills Village, CO and Diane (William) Rogers of Panama City, FL; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and ten nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, 1-5 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 E. Market St., Cadiz, OH 43907 with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating.
