Finance Committee Chair Rob Stewart says the committee met recently to work out some details and notes that the 2013 budget is close to being finalized.
Stewart says Auditor Jody Dunlap is currently making some minor adjustments to the budget.
While nothing has been finalized at this point, Stewart says he hopes to present the budget at council's next regularly scheduled meeting.
On a similar note, during the finance committee's recent meeting, the committee heard a presentation from Mayor Terry Culbertson about the possible leasing of two vehicles for the city's police department: one police car and a SUV unit for the department's K-9 officer. The lease would be a four-year lease. Stewart says no action was requested nor taken on the matter.
