He was born May 26, 1932, in Frost, WV and had been a resident of the Canton-Magnolia area since 1957. Edgar was retired from The Timken Co., after 35 ½ years service, where he was a punch press operator. Previously he worked at a saw mill in Cass, WV, and delivered coal in Canton. Edgar was a member of New Life Christian Church in Waynesburg.
Preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mildred F. “Midge” Grimes, on Dec. 11, 2012, and a brother, Paul Grimes. Survived by three daughters, and a son-in-law, Karen (Grimes) Lossau, and Rebecca and Doug Carr, all of Canton, and Karen (Leachman) Nicholson, of Dover; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Stephanie Leachman, of Magnolia, Keith and Bonnie Leachman, of Waynesburg, and David and Janet Leachman, of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Allen Sheets, of Frost, WV.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peter Hall officiating. Interment in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery in Morgantown, WV. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-11 a.m. before the service.
