Mayor Terry Culbertson says city officials met with a consulting group from Washington, D.C. last month to help devise a plan for how to begin revitalizing the city’s downtown.
Culbertson says he originally learned about the process through Uhrichsville’s participation in the Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA).
While in town, Culbertson says the group hosted both planning and public meetings to help generate ideas and feedback. He says officials hope to establish a group in the near future with participants from both Uhrichsville and Dennison to help move the project forward.
Culbertson says he expects to receive the final plan from the consulting group either this week or next week. Once in place, he says officials will be upfront and make sure everyone is aware of what the plan entails.
Culbertson says the consulting group from Washington, which includes participants from the Renaissance Planning Group and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, is expected to include possible funding ideas in their plan as well.
