Bertha M. (VanPelt) (Steiner) Weaver



Bertha M. (VanPelt) (Steiner) Weaver, 80, of 4564 S. Wenger Road, Dalton, passed away Monday morning, March 4, 2013, at her home lovingly surrounded by family, following a period of declining health.

She was born near Columbiana, OH on March 21, 1932 to Charles and Iva (Witmer) VanPelt. In her youth she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. She was a member of the County Line Mennonite Church.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the County Line Mennonite Church, 19199 Church Road, Dalton, OH 44618. Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at County Line Mennonite Church, with the ministry of the County Line Mennonite Church officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Spidell Funeral Home in Mt Eaton is handling the arrangements.

On April 10, 1955, she married Paul Steiner. He died Oct. 19, 1973. To this union were born seven sons and three daughters, Susan (Lloyd) Steiner of Dalton, Charles (Donna) Steiner of Shiloh, Rebecca (Tim) Amstutz of Dalton, Marcus (Rhoda) Steiner of Cambridge Springs, PA, Allen (Anna Mary) Steiner of Shiloh, James (Mary Ann) Steiner of Smithville, Elmer (Dorothy) Steiner of Dalton, Carl (Crystal) Steiner of Plainview TX, Timothy and Rhoda Steiner of the home.

On December 17, 1988, she married Elmer Weaver, who preceded her in death by six months and was the widower of the late Esther (Koppes) Weaver. Also surviving are two stepdaughters and three stepsons, Marvin (Lorraine) Weaver of Orrville, Merle (Alice) Weaver of Wooster, Marilyn (Barry) Horst of Sauk Centre, MN, Miriam (Wilmer) Nolt of Ashland, and Milton (Sue) Weaver of Wooster.

She is also survived by two sisters and four brothers, Roy VanPelt of Kidron, David VanPelt of Columbiana, Loretta (Marvin) Good of Dalton, Emma Ruth Walker of Rittman, Joseph VanPelt of Salem, Ivan VanPelt of Columbiana; 110 grandchildren and 72 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, a granddaughter, and a step-great granddaughter.
