Lillian E. Thomas



Lillian E. Thomas, age 98, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013 in Altercare of Nobles Pond. She was born February 07, 1915, in Accident, MD, a daughter of the late Ira and Florence (Niner) Glodfelty, and had been a Canton resident since 1994, previously residing in Waynesburg.

Lillian was a retired employee of Akro Mills in Akron where she worked for many years. She was a member of Anchor Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Thomas, on Sept. 27, 1979, three sons, Sherman and Robert House, and William “Hagan” Thomas, a daughter, Eleanor George, and a daughter-in-law, Liz Thomas.

She is Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene and Lewis Moore, of Canal Fulton, and Linda Thomas, of Canton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Alvy and Pat Thomas, and Michael Thomas, all of Waynesburg; 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Danny L. Grine officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville.
