He was a retired farmer and carpenter and was a member of the Old Order Amish. He was married to the former Elvina Miller on April 17, 1946 and she died September 25, 1992.
He is survived by his daughter Martha (Terry) Rhees of Millersburg, step-daughter Irene (Ervin) Hershberger of Lisbon, 2 step grandchildren, 7 step-great grandchildren, 12 step-great great grandchildren, sister Mattie Miller of Millersburg and sister-in-law Lizzie Raber of Millersburg.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and three brothers-in-law.
Services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 9:00 AM at the Raber residence with Bishop Roy J.C. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Raber Cemetery in Clark Twp., Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
