Director Donna Moody says the library, located at 215 East Third Street in Uhrichsville, will undergo a facade renovation this summer. She says the need for the renovation was discovered after the library conducted a feasibility study.
The library is working on the project, which is currently in the design phase, with MKC Associates Incorporated, an architect, engineering, and planning firm in New Philadelphia.
MKC Vice President Tim Leist says the project will entail several improvements to the outside of the library.
Leist says plans also call for the installation of new windows on the upstairs portion of the library to help mimic the original look of the building when it was first constructed. He says the interior portion of the building will only see minimal upgrades.
With talks of revitalizing the look and feel of downtown Uhrichsville, Leist says the library's project should be a step in the right direction.
Moody says the facade renovation will be funded entirely through the library's capital projects fund.
The project is expected to be bid out in April with the work complete by the end of summer.
