New Programs at Buckeye Career Center Off to Flying Start

The Buckeye Career Center continues to expand its educational programs.

Since opening in 1976, the mission of the Buckeye Career Center has been to prepare people to successfully enter, compete and advance in the changing world of work.

One of newest two-year programs offered to students for this school year is Exercise Science & Sports Medicine. Marketing representative Gayle Mann says the program is designed to help students hoping to get into occupational therapy and rehabilitation.

In addition, the center has added a two-year Pharmacy Technician program to the curriculum for this year.

Program instructor Christine McCoury says the classes were added because the school recognized the need for more subjects within the field of medicine.

McCoury says there are seventeen students enrolled in the program this year.

McCoury says the center is trying to get the word out so prospective students are aware of the programs being offered at the school.

Mann says Buckeye has evolved considerably during the 26 years he’s been with the center.
