Audrey Eckert, 89, of Sugarcreek, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:13am in Union Hospital at Dover after a brief illness. Born September 16, 1923 in Pittsburgh she was a daughter of the late John and Elinora (Kohl) Simpson.
She employed at Allied Machine and Engineering during WWII the worked at Dover Appliance for 17 years and General Electric for 2 years. She then assisted her husband in the operation of Eckert Ford at Sugarcreek for 34 years. Audrey was a lifetime member of the Ragersville Historical Society, an honorary member of the Sugarcreek Rotary Club where she was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award and in 2001 she was honored as Citizen of the Year by the Sugarcreek Police Department.

Her husband Wilson A. Eckert preceded her in death on October 17, 1996.
She is survived by a brother John "Jack" Simpson of Pittsburgh and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Lillian Erhardt, Ethel Holeczy and Dorathy Jordan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11:00AM in the Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ at Ragersville. Paster Darcy Miller will officiate and burial will follow in Ragersville Cemetary. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
