Former Indians Looking For (Another) Big Pay Day

The top free agents on this year’s market in baseball are CC Sabathia and Manny Ramirez. They play different positions, are at different stages of their respective careers and are totally different personalities. But they do have the Cleveland Indians in common. Both are former Indians who played in World Series action with the Tribe, but Manny left for the riches of free agency (Boston). Sabathia was traded, but only after turning down potential deals to remain with the team that put him in the starting rotation at age 19. Another common denominator they will share is that they will not return to the Indians as productive players. A part of me also hopes that they share the disappointment of not seeing another World Series, but that probably won’t be the way it all turns out.
