Ohio college basketball has taken home some special honors. From the Mid-American Conference, second year Kent State Coach Geno Ford has been selected as Coach of the Year for leading the Flashes to the East division title and top seed going into the conference tournament. KSU has won 13 of their last 14 games. At Ohio State, Evan Turner is the selection of the coaches and media as Big Ten Player of the Year. Media members who cover Big Ten games voted OSU’s Thad Matta the Coach of the Year, while the coaches voted for Purdue’s Matt Painter.
