Farm Bureau Attempts to Lobby Congressional Leaders

After traveling over 300 miles, Washington D.C. disappointed several Ohio Farm Bureau delegates.

WTUZ’s Beth Wagner has more from Washington:

Ohio Farm Bureau Presidents from eight different Ohio counties in Ohio’s 6th District were frustrated when they found out Democrat Charlie Wilson was visiting his district in Ohio Tuesday, and would not be available to meet with farm bureau lobbyists.

Washington County Farm Bureau President Jack Jurin, who attended the meeting to discuss pending legislation and potential legislation, was greeted by one of Wilson’s legislative aids, which Jurin says was unsatisfactory.

Jurin Comments:

Jurin says he wanted to discuss recent opposition by the United States Humane Society of the Livestock Care Standards Board and alternative energy options.

Jurin Comments:

Jurin says there are resources readily available domestically, which could help create more jobs for the economy.

Jurin Comments:

More congressional visits have been planned for Wednesday, including visits with 16th District Representative John Boccieri and 18th District Representative Zack Space.
