Auditor Thanks Community for Many Good Years

Official Resignation from Matt Judy: 

Tuscarawas County Auditor Matt Judy has resigned from his post as Tuscarawas County Auditor.

Judy made the announcement during Thursday mornings meeting of the Tuscarawas County Commissioners.

Judy says he has accepted a fiscal officer position with Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 in New Philadelphia.

Commissioner Chris Abbuhl says he wishes Judy well, and Judy says it’s been a pleasure working for the County.

Commissioner Kerry Metzger echoed the wishes of Commissioner Abbuhl, and Judy says he appreciates the Commissioners support.

Metzger and Judy Comment: 

Commissioners passed a resolution accepting Judy’s resignation from the post and appointed Chief Deputy Larry Lindberg as Acting Auditor until the Democratic Central Committee meets and names an appointment.

Last week, Lindberg filed as a write-in candidate for the position of County Auditor with the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections.

At that time, Lindberg says he had a discussion with Judy regarding the possibility of running as a write-in candidate since he was seeking another job with ODOT.

Voters will be able to decide who fills the County Auditor position for the coming year in November.
