Nick McWilliams reporting – A local group and the Stark County Fatherhood Coalition are working together for a Family Fun Day at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. and the coalition play host to a new event which features family oriented activities and free admission to one of football’s most hallowed grounds.

Deputy Director of child Support for Stark County JFS and Chairperson for the Fatherhood Coalition Rob Pierson says that the end goal is to bring a message of proactive parents working together for child development.

“We know that when children don’t have two parents involved, they are at risk. And that’s one of the things we’re trying to do is turn the tide on that. Newsymom and the Fatherhood Coalition thought it would be a great idea to have an event together. We’re both trying to build strong families, and we know that strong families build strong communities.”

Registration is required, and there is no cost for admission.

Sports related activities such as a presentation from former NFL linebacker Shawn Crable and an appearance from the Cleveland Browns mascot will be a feature, along with other stations outside that realm.

“It’s going to be sports, art and music. And they’ll be stations that relate to the sports theme, as well as the backdrop of the Hall of Fame. Everyone who participates after this event, which will be about a three hour event, then lunch will be provided, then they’ll have the rest of the day if they choose to go into the Hall of Fame for free.”

Music activities will be provided by the Canton Symphony, which will provide a “musical petting zoo,” while art will be led by Newsymom.

Pre-registration can be completed by contacting Coordinator Matt Lytle at (330) 451-8477.
