Over the Rail Diner Opens in Dennison

Mary Alice Reporting:

(Monday, October 9th) Dennison, Ohio – A new diner in Dennison is getting ready for opening day Tuesday morning.

Over the Rail Diner is located in the Dennison Depot Museum and Owner Tracie Bolitho says the name was inspired by the railroad tracks and the village’s history.

“Because we’re in a depot we want to honor the Depot and all the service people that have passed on before and the ones coming up. I even had a friend of my make aprons that the girls wear. There a full apron and looks like a railroad apron.”

Bolitho notes other restaurants have tried to stay in business at the Depot and she feels her restaurant has a chance since it will be a mom and pop diner.

She adds between her and her servers there are over 225 years of restaurant experience and service that will make customers feel at home.

“We want them to come back. We want this to just be a fun, friendly place to come. It’s always nice when you can get a friendly face in your hometown.”

Opening day is Tuesday, October 10th at 6am but a ribbon cutting ceremony will be on Friday, October 13th.
