Ralph Junior Lahm, 88, of Tuscarawas, died Monday, March 26, 2018 in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following a lengthy illness.

A son of the late Ralph W. and Margaret (Guthrie) Lahm, Ralph was born in Tuscarawas County on October 10, 1929.

Ralph graduated from Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in 1947 and was employed at Larson’s Clay at Uhrichsville for 40 years. Following his retirement, Ralph worked for his daughter’s family business, PAC Drilling.

He was a 50 year member of the Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #194 at Dennison where he was Past Master. Ralph was also a former Exalted Ruler at the Uhrichsville Elks #424 and a member of the Beagle Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and also had a passion for horses and attending horse shows. Most of all, Ralph cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great pride in attending their sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Klein) Lahm whom he married on June 12, 1948; his daughter, Sandy Caldwell of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Jason (Melinda) Caldwell of Newcomerstown, Jeremy (Michelle) Caldwell of Dover, Justin (Nikki) Caldwell of Bolivar and Jolene (Josh) McDonald of New Philadelphia; his great grandchildren, Michael (Allie), Kayla (Sam), Conner, Maddi, Maddex, Paisyn, Paxtyn, Jordyn, Brayden, Paityn, Brooklyn, Kaleb, Kaidyn, Kylan and Kinsley and a great-great granddaughter, Kenley.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Phillip Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Maxine Lahm and a sister, Betty Lahm.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Masonic Services being held at 7:45 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ralph’s life will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Josh McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Moravian Cemetery at Tuscarawas. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in Authentic Church.
